CLDE501 WL 553: Assessment and Evaluation in Spanish Language Education
This course explores the principles and practices of assessment and evaluation in K–12 Spanish language instruction. Students will examine formative and summative assessments specific to second language acquisition, design culturally and linguistically appropriate tools, and analyze issues of equity and bias in language testing. Emphasis is placed on aligning assessment with ACTFL standards, addressing heritage learners, and supporting multilingual classrooms.
This course is conducted in English by Dr. Wanda Ocasio-Rivera.
All course readings and videos will be in English or Spanish. All student work, except where otherwise noted, must be completed in English or Spanish.
